In 2 Samuel 23:11–12, we read about Shammah, one of David’s mighty men, who stood his ground in a field of lentils while everyone else fled—and God gave him victory. Why risk it over a simple field? Because the land belonged to the Lord. In “Ground to Stand On,” Pastor Jared McKinney challenges us to stop surrendering spiritual ground to the enemy and instead reclaim and guard what belongs to God. Whether it’s our families, our prayer life, our worship, or our witness, too much ground has already been given up. Through repentance and renewal, we can regain what’s been lost—and by walking in truth, we can guard what remains. The question is simple: when the enemy advances, will you flee—or will you stand your ground?
